Frances Ann Fischer

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Frances Ann (Berkoski) Fischer at the age of 90. Frances passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Frances was born on March 27, 1935 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to Edward and Sophie Berkoski. She was married to LTC Robert C. Fischer until he passed on February 27, 1985.

Frances attended Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City. She worked as an RN in various positions with the last being for the El Paso Public School System for 20 years.

Frances was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and was loved by all. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed country western dancing, playing bingo, and going to the casinos.

Frances is survived by her partner Brent Harkness, three daughters: Francine Fischer and her wife Beverly DeGroot, Mariella Fischer and her husband Tom Sanchez, and Karen McAuley and her husband Tim McAuley; her grandchildren Christopher Juusola, Shaun McAuley, and Megan McAuley, and her 7 grandchildren Christian Juusola, Emilia Juusola; Madison McAuley, Savanna McAuley, Jackson McAuley, Conor McAuley and Ava Lyn McAuley. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews.

She will truly be missed by everyone she touched.
