Francisco Licano Jr.

In His infinite wisdom and gentle grace, Almighty God reached down from Heaven and whispered softly, "Come with me, my son, for it is time to go home." On Saturday, January 4, 2025, God closed the eyes of our beloved uncle, Francisco Licano Jr.

Francisco was born on December 28, 1935, in El Paso, Texas. A proud graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduation, serving honorably for four years. Following his military service, he dedicated over 30 years of his life to the United States Postal Service in his hometown.

Francisco was a warm, loving, and caring man who cherished his family deeply, including his many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He also had a close circle of cherished friends, golf partners, and fishing buddies, whom he considered more like brothers. His contagious laugh and joking nature brought joy to everyone around him and will be sorely missed.

A lifelong fan of Frank Sinatra, Francisco lived his life in harmony with the singer’s iconic words: 

And now, the end is near 

And so I face the final curtain 

My friend, I'll say it clear 

I'll state my case, of which I'm certain

 I've lived a life that's full 

I traveled each and every highway 

And more, much more than this 

I did it my way!

Rest in peace, our beloved uncle. Your memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM, Monday, January 20, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina. 

Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 AM, Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at St Ignatius of Loyola Parish, 408 Park St. Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 PM at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson.
