Franz B. Jackson, 87, Franz was born in St. Thomas, Virgin Island. After receiving his GED he drafted into the military on May 9, 1951 and served his country for 26 yrs, 3 months & 22 days in the United States Army. Franz married Dorothy Blyden who preceded him in death after 44 yrs of marriage. After he retired from the military Franz was employed by the commissary at Ft. Bliss for 10 years and retired again. Franz then married for the second time to Mary A. Whitman June 5, 2011 the 2nd love of his life. Franz loved all kinds of music with Cuban being his favorite. He loved to dress well, smell good, laugh and dance. Also, preceded in death by 4 brothers – Enrique, Ira, Hugo and Lewellyn, 2 sisters – Andromeda, Authe, 1 daughter – Eseline (Jackie) White. He leaves to mourn his wife Mary Whitman Jackson, Sister Luella Williams another family member left behind to mourn, 2 daughters Michele Jackson and Starlette Hobdy, 1 stepson Wronie L. Kimble, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9:00am to 12:00pm with a Funeral Service at 12 noon on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass. Committal Service will follow at 2:00pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
