Geneva Mister Crowder, born on December 13, 1939, was the second child
and second daughter of Abraham and Lucinda Mister. From her earliest
days, she carried a gentle strength, a giving spirit, and a deep devotion
to her family and her faith.
Geneva married the love of her life, Waners Lee Crowder, and together
they shared 62 years of unwavering partnership. As an Army wife, she
supported her husband through every chapter of military life while
raising their family with grace, resilience, and steadfast love. She also
dedicated more than 20 years of service as an AAFES associate, where
her kindness, reliability, and warm presence touched countless lives.
Her faith was the foundation of her life. Geneva embraced Jesus Christ
as her Savior and was baptized at Bethlehem Temple in El Paso, Texas.
She served faithfully as usher board president for many years and
lovingly prepared meals for people of all ages in the church kitchen. Her
service was an expression of her heart—quiet, humble, and full of
compassion.
On May 7, 2026, Geneva passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved
ones. She is preceded in death by her parents, Abraham and Lucinda
Mister; her sisters, Jimmie Faye and Betty; and her brothers, James and
Ervin.
She leaves behind her devoted husband of 62 years, Waners Crowder; her
daughters, Vickie Osborne and Ulanda Bush; her grandchildren, Chester
Osborne, Omni Bush, and Brianna Ferdinand (married to Leo Ferdinand);
and her great‑grandchildren, Kylan Bush, Micah Bush, Brayden
Ferdinand, and Cameron Ferdinand. Each carries forward her love, her
strength, and the lessons she so generously shared.
Geneva will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, a cherished
grandmother and great‑grandmother, a faithful servant of God, and a
woman whose life reflected kindness, humility, and unwavering love.
