George A. Holloway passed away on April 29, 2014. George was born February 6, 1925 in Marked Tree, Arkansas to Chester F. and Faye Cromwell Holloway. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Rosemary Holloway; son, George M. (Mamie); daughter, Susan Hunter (David); and grandsons: Mathew and Daniel Hunter; sister, Lillian Pittman; and brother, James M. Holloway. George retired from the Army and Air Force as a Staff Sergeant after twenty years. George served in the Army in WWII, North Africa and D Day where he received the Purple Heart. After the war, he re-enlisted in the USAF with tours in Korea, Alaska, Hawaii and Vietnam. He then retired from Sears after twenty years. He always had a smile and a story to tell. A Gathering of Remembrance will be held from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m., with a Funeral Service to begin at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Inurnment will follow at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
