George Gregorio Loi

El Paso, TX - George passed away in his home during hospice care after battling bile duct cancer on June 28, 2026.

George was under the loving care of his daughter, Jenissa, at the time of his passing.

George was born in Koror, Palau on February 12, 1953 to George Lind and Uldekel. He was adopted by Loi and Etei. He later changed his last name to Loi in honor of his adoptive father.

George graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Guam and went on to join the military, where he served for 4 years. During and after his service, he was stationed in Germany and Iraq as a military contractor.

George was a top of the line mechanic and heavy equipment operator who worked on vehicles ranging from commercial models to tractor trailers. He worked in a leadership capacity, and licensed many operators after training them.

After many years of working as a commercial truck driver, George retired in El Paso, TX. He received many awards and recognitions, including a million miles with no accidents.

In his free time, George enjoyed cooking, fishing, road trips with his family, walks in the park, classic country music, and taking care of his dog Jack.

He is survived by his daughter Jenissa, and his sons Alexander, Jerryd, and Gregorio Loi. He is also survived by his sister, Terry and two other sisters; his children from prior marriages: Stacy, Vicente, Georgie, and Jason. 

A service will follow at 9:30 AM on Friday, July 17, 2026. The service will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery (5200 Fred Wilson Avenue El Paso, TX 79906).
