On April 24, 2014, our loving father passed away at age 77. Gilbert Sanchez, born to Sebastian and Maria Sanchez of San Miguel, NM, who preceded him in death along with 6 brothers and sisters. Our dad is survived by his wife of 52 years Candelaria; children, Sandy(Bill), Pat and Gilbert(Laura); grand-children, Matthew(Korina), Sebastian(Amanda), Dylan, Isabelle and Sara; one great-grandchild, Illyana; Sisters, Elojia Galvan(Jesse), Juanita Medrano(Ernesto); and one brother Jesse Sanchez(Esperanza).
Our dad graduated from Gadsden High School in 1957, then entered the US Army in 1959. He had a tremendous career; rising through the ranks from PVT to SGM, retiring in 1983. Along the way he mentored, trained, and stayed in contact with many people until his untimely death.
Our dad enjoyed life to its fullest whether it be by playing golf, playing with his grandchildren and being with his family and friends. He instilled in us his love for family and appreciation of life, never taking for granted to live life to its fullest.
Our dad was a life long member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was a loving husband, best friend, and inspiration. We will miss him with all our hearts.
