Guadalupe Juarez Ramirez Sr.

December 12, 1932 — May 10, 2026

Sierra Blanca

Guadalupe Juárez Ramírez, age 93, of Sierra Blanca, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, in the town where he was born, raised, and spent his entire life surrounded by family, friends, and community. He was born on December 12, 1932, in Sierra Blanca, Texas, to Refugio Ramirez and Margarita Juarez, who both preceded him in death.

From a young age, Guadalupe was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. At just 14 years old, he stepped in to help the Guerra family after his father, who held the driving position, was drafted to war. Guadalupe began driving the route from Sierra Blanca to El Paso and back, picking up groceries and supplies to deliver to the Guerra Store and farm in Sierra Blanca. His willingness to take on such responsibility at a young age reflected the hardworking and dependable man he would become.

During his senior year of high school, Guadalupe was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served his country from 1953 to 1955. He served as a Gun Crewman with C Battery, 63rd AAA Battalion, APO 46. Following his military service, he returned home to Sierra Blanca and completed his high school education, demonstrating the determination and perseverance that would define his life.He later dedicated 31 years of service to TxDOT in Sierra Blanca before retiring. Guadalupe was known as a hardworking man who deeply loved his family, his hometown, and the simple life he built through honesty, loyalty, and resilience.

One of Guadalupe’s greatest joys in life was fishing with his family and friends. Whether out by the water telling stories or spending time with the people he loved most, those moments meant everything to him. He also carried a deep knowledge of the history of Sierra Blanca and Hudspeth County and was someone many people learned from simply by sitting and listening to him talk. Everywhere he went, he knew someone, and someone always knew him. His presence, stories, and friendships were woven deeply into the community he loved so much.

Guadalupe shared 63 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Christina Ramirez, who preceded him in death. Together they built a loving family and life rooted in faith, hard work, and community.

He is survived by his children, Juanita Snyder, Ismael Ramirez, and Guadalupe Ramirez Jr.; his goddaughter, Lorenza Hernandez; his grandchildren, Lucia Snyder, Ryan Ramirez, Alex Ramirez, and Austin Ramirez; and his great-grandchildren, Mason Wesley, Brook Lynn, Lexi Rose, Rainie Haven, Sparrow Castiel, and Ember Gabriel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Refugio Ramirez and Margarita Juarez; his wife, Christina Ramirez; and his sons, Oscar Ramirez and Victor Ramirez.

Guadalupe will be remembered for his strength, dedication, quiet wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy lives on through the generations he helped guide, support, and love throughout his life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
