Harold Gene McGee

Harold Gene McGee, Sr was born on September 5, 1936, in Roxton, Texas to Hal (Bud) McGee and Pearl McGrew and was called home by the Angels of the Lord on June 1, 2022.  He had three siblings; Elverna Wilson, Kate Boone and Robert McGee, who are deceased.  He married Irma Jean Riley on September 5, 1959.  He served in the United States Army and toured the world with Irma for 26 years.  They moved to El Paso, Texas in 1979, where they resided for 37 years.  He then relocated to Fredericksburg, Virginia in July 2021.  After retiring from the U.S. Army in 1980, Harold worked for the Fort Bliss National Cemetery for 27 years as an Irrigation Specialist until he retired in December 2009.  He enjoyed computers, crossword puzzles, his grandchildren, family time and watching western movies. He is survived by two of his three children; Harold, Jr and Letitia (husband Harvey); his wife, (Irma and son Charles proceeded him in death) grandchildren; Felicia, Charles, Cassandra, Tinisha and Gabrielle, Great Grandchildren; Ne’Shawn, Ryan, Ne’Shanni, Madison, and Madisyn, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00am with a Funeral Service at 12:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive.  Committal Service to follow at 2:00pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, with Full Military Honors. (West Shelter)
