Hazel Louise Webb passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 20, 2026, her 88th birthday. She went to be with the Lord leaving behind a family who loved her deeply and will cherish her memory always.
Hazel was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and was affectionately known to her family as “Granty.” She took tremendous pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and in the people, they had become and continue to become. She gave freely of her love, encouragement, and wisdom and was always there to support the people she cared about.
Hazel shared her home and daily life with her daughter, Vicki. The two were constant companions and did nearly everything together. They also shared a special love for animals, particularly cats, and their home \was never without a collection of beloved indoor and outdoor cats to care for and spoil.
Hazel treasured time with family and friends, especially during the holidays. Christmas held a particularly special place in her heart. She loved the traditions, the time spent together, and, of course, making sure everyone had plenty to eat. Cooking was one of the many ways Hazel showed her love. She delighted in preparing favorite dishes for family and friends, and her homemade peanut brittle became a much-loved Christmas tradition.
Hazel also enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, crossword puzzles, and watching QVC, where there was always something interesting to discover—and perhaps something she or someone she loved needed. Whether she was caring for her garden and animals, working a crossword puzzle, watching QVC, preparing something special in the kitchen, or simply spending time with loved ones, Hazel found joy in the familiar things that made a home and family special.
Hazel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edgar Webb. She is survived by her son, Richard “Rick” Webb and his wife, Julie; her daughter, Vicki Webb; her grandchildren, Kathy Schuessler (Jason), Kevin Webb, and Jackson Webb (Brianna); and her great-grandchildren, Emmy and Olivia Schuessler and Zachary Webb.
Her family will remember Hazel for her generous heart, the traditions she created, and the countless ways she made the people around her feel cared for. Her love and influence will continue through the generations of the family she was so proud of.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on October 1, 2026, at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, where Hazel will be laid to rest with her loving husband, Edgar.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Hazel’s memory to El Pasoans Fighting Hunger.
