In Loving Memory of Helen Guel Macias

March 16, 1955 – July 12, 2026

Helen Macias, a devout Catholic woman of profound faith and dedication, entered eternal rest peacefully on July 12, 2026, at the age of 71. She passed away surrounded by the comfort and love of her family.

Born on March 16, 1955, in El Paso, Texas, Helen Macias lived a life deeply rooted in her Catholic faith and devotion to the Lord. She was a parishioner at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where she found great strength and community. Beyond her parish life, she was a dedicated and proud member of the Fire-Fighters Ladies Auxiliary and the ACTS at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, generously serving her community and supporting local first responders alongside her husband.

Above all, she was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Jose, her cherished daughter, Vanessa, her much-loved son, Joseph and her oldest brother, Rudy Guel (Monie) and sister, Patsy Guel. She is also survived by many extended family members, friends, and fellow parish community members who will miss her faithful spirit, kindness, and warmth.

She is welcomed into eternal life and reunited in Christ with her parents, Benito Guel, Sr. and Maria Frescas Guel, as well as her departed brothers and sisters who preceded her in death: Teresa, Delia, Tony, Bennett, and Magdalena.

A Rosary will be held on July 17, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home-West. The Mass will be celebrated on July 17, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery on July 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM.

“O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe, you appeared as a gentle mother to bring hope, compassion, and peace to your children. We humbly beseech you to look with tenderness upon the soul of your servant, Helen, who has departed this life. Wrap her in your mantle of love and protection and intercede for her before your Divine Son, Jesus Christ, that all her sins may be forgiven and she may find eternal rest. Amen.”
