Herlinda Sillas Armendariz

Herlinda Sillas Armendariz, 91 of El Paso, Texas was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was born on March 5, 1934. She devoted her life to caring for her home and family.

On February 22, 2026, she passed peacefully at her home surrounded by family. In 1953 she wed Fernando Armendariz, a Navy Veteran, and Chemist. They were married for 62 years until his passing in 2015. Both were loving parents to four children: Albert Armendariz, Sylvia Garcia, Daniel Armendariz, and Bernice Armendariz.

She dedicated her life as a mother, who embodied great love, compassion, care, and protection. Especially to her youngest daughter, her “baby,” Bernice. Herlinda provided special daily care, a nurturing home, and unconditional love for Bernice until her passing at 51 years old in 2021.

She is survived by her three children: Albert, Sylvia, and Daniel. Four granddaughters: Lynda Garcia, Ramie Garcia, Tallise Armendariz, Lynsey Okamura (Garcia), and five great grandchildren.

A Visitation and Rosary have been arranged to honor Herlinda at Sunset Funeral Homes – East, 750 N. Carolina, El Paso, Texas on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:00 PM. A Chapel Service will be held at 8:00 AM, Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Homes – East. The burial will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Avenue at 9:00 AM.
