Horace William Myers

HORACE WILLIAM MYERS passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the age of 86. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother in-law and will be greatly missed. He and his wife moved from Washington, DC to El Paso in June of 1988 where he resided until his passing. Mr. Myers retired from the U.S. Army as a Chief Warrant Officer (W4). He was preceded in death by his wife Gwendolyn Myers who passed away May 10, 2008. He is survived by his children, Steven Myers, Rita Myers-Grigsby and Keith Payne, grandchildren Lauren Myers, Kristen Myers, Evan Myers, Tamika Myers, Tamira Grigsby, Antonio Myers, Jamie Priest, great-grandchildren Janiya Johnson, Khalil Montgomery and Olivia Priest. He is also survived by his loving in-laws Ret. Col. DeReef & Yvonne Greene, Col. Gottlieb Turnbull, M.D. (Ret.) and his loving nieces Becky & Diana Greene, Julie Giles-Ozone and Courtney Turnbull. Mr. Myers and his wife were devoted members of Queen of Peace Church. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM, with Holy Rosary at 7:00PM at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Rite of the Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March. 27, 2015 at 12:00PM at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1551 Belvidere. Interment will follow at Ft.
