Hortencia Gallardo

Hortencia Gallardo, 97, passed away on January 9, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose kindness, strength, and love touched all who knew her. The matriarch of her family, Hortencia loved to listen to music, dance, and make people laugh. She will be deeply missed.

Hortencia was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Esperanza Cedillo, and her loving husband, Arnaldo Jose Gallardo.

She is survived by her children: Graciela, son-in-law Rafael, Nando, Enrique, and Enriqueta. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Bernadette, Farrin, Bianca, Amri, Aaron, Alejandra, Liliana, and Gabriela, as well as her adored great-grandchildren: Arianne, Elize, Ryan, Kyler, Matteo, Amanda, Edward, Ayden, Elan, Océane, Luciene, Cole, Isaac, and Sean.

Hortencia is also remembered by many extended family members and friends who will continue to honor her memory.

A Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Homes-West, on Thursday, January 22, 2026, with a Rosary to commence at 6:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will begin at 12:30 pm, on Friday, January 23, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi, Doniphan Drive, El Paso, TX, 79932. Interment to follow at 2:00 pm at Memory Gardens of the Valley, 4900 McNutt Rd, Santa Teresa, NM 88008.
