In Loving Memory of Hortencia A. Rangel
Hortencia A. Rangel, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, at the age of 90. She was born on June 23, 1936, and devoted her life to loving and caring for her family.
Hortencia leaves behind her loving husband, Juan M. Rangel, and her children: Ernest A. Rangel, Carolyn J. Candelaria, Bruce M. Rangel, Steven R. Rangel, and Cheryle M. Castile
She was a cherished grandmother to Nicholas Rangel , Alfredo Salazar, Jr., Joseph M. Candelaria, Angela Carter, Justin B. Rangel, Hannah L. Moseff, Leah R. Alonzo, Madison R. Rangel, and Natalie R. Rangel. She was also a loving great-grandmother to Mariel A. Salazar, Mia L. Salazar, Isaiah M. Candelaria, Ashton Carter, Isaiah Carter, Carson Michael Sanchez, Gabryle J. Rangel, Isabelle Maryan Sanchez, Declan G. Sanchez, Xavier R. Alonzo, Jordan R. Alonzo, Maddox R. Rivero, Ella R. Rivero
Hortencia’s greatest joy was her family. She treasured the moments spent together, the memories created through the years, and the love that surrounded her. Her kindness, strength, warmth, and devotion to those she loved will remain in the hearts of her family forever.
A woman of faith, Hortencia placed her trust in God and carried her Catholic faith throughout her life. Her family finds comfort knowing that she has been welcomed into the loving arms of our Lord. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her love and memory will continue to live on through the generations she leaves behind.
May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

A visitation will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Homes-Americas, 9521 N. Loop, El Paso, Texas 79907. A Mass at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 9205 N Loop Dr, El Paso, TX 79907. Services Entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-Americas.
