Ignacia R. Flores passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, in El Paso, Texas, surrounded by the love and presence of her family. Born on July 31, 1926, in Durango, Mexico, she was the cherished daughter of the late Maria Rocha.
In 1952, Ignacia married, Tomas Flores, and together they built a home filled with faith, warmth, and generosity in El Paso. Their union was a testament to enduring love and commitment, lasting 34 years until Tomas’s passing.
A devout woman of God, Ignacia dedicated countless hours to both Our Lady of Assumption and Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic churches, serving as a teacher, a member of the altar society, and a devoted participant in Our Lady’s Blue Army. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she lived it with grace and humility.
Ignacia had a heart that embraced everyone—she was a mother not only to her own children but to all who entered her home. She loved unconditionally, gave freely, and welcomed others with open arms and a warm smile. Her sharp wit and joyful spirit made her a delight to be around, and her gift for conversation meant no topic was off limits. Despite having only a third-grade education, she could hold her own in any discussion, often surprising others with her insight and intellect. She was an avid reader, a lifelong learner, and a woman of remarkable wisdom.
One of her proudest accomplishments was her pilgrimage to the Holy Land—a journey that deeply moved her and remained one of her favorite stories to share.
Ignacia is survived by her loving children: Maria del Rosario Villegas (Joe, deceased), Maria Magdalena Rodriguez (Benjamin, deceased), Lorenzo Flores (spouse, Rosemary), and Mercedes Oliva Elias (Arturo, deceased). She also leaves behind a legacy of love through her 15 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her many cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Tomas Flores, her daughter Maria Concepcion Robinson, her brothers Manuel & Jose Rocha, and her sisters Francisa Jaime, Paula Rocha, and Luz Bandera.
Ignacia’s life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. She was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.
