Irene C. Gil

Irene Soledad Curiel Gil, 78 was called to Heaven on July 14, 2015. A beloved mother, grandmother and mentor, whose presence will be greatly missed. She was a strong woman who worked as a teacher for EPISD and volunteered her time helping anyone and everyone. During her stay at the nursing home she was well know for creating a positive environment. Whether it was coloring, sharing snacks, playing bingo or bragging about her family. She held the position of President for the Residence Advisory Committee. As a single mother she raised a tight knit family and always provided for us. She was a long time resident of El Paso, Texas and a devoted Catholic. She is preceded in death by her parents Antonia and Daniel Curiel. Survived by her four children: Irene Ramirez, Yvonne Gil Ramirez (Juan Raul), Antoinette Gil (Sarah), Juan Gil (Laila), three grandchildren who she adored till the end Daniela Irene Ramirez, Daniel Joaquin Gil, Jacob Stevens, two brothers Jesus and Lorenzo Curiel and one sister Guadalupe Campuzano. Visitation: 4:00pm-9:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary: 7:00pm, Monday, July 20, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Funeral Mass: 10:00am, Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Santo Niño de Atocha Church- 210 S Clark.
