Isabel Fernandez Aguirre – October 23, 2025
Early Life and Family Legacy
Isabel was born on Sunday, March 2, 1952, in Ysleta, Texas to Luis Marquez Fernandez and Emilia Pedregon Carrasco. She was the 3rd child of 11 and the eldest female sibling (8 Brothers, 2 sisters). She attended Mt. Carmel Catholic School as well as attended Ysleta High School as a member of the Class of 1970. She married the love of her life, Hector Aguirre in May of 1972. They would build their life together with 3 children; Victoria Elena Aguirre, Teresa Elena Aguirre and Hector Aguirre, Jr. (Irene Rivas Aguirre); 5 grandchildren, Isaac Antonio Aguirre, Andrea Elena Gonzalez, Jacob Elijah Aguirre, Alani Elizabeth Martinez, and Adam Christopher Martinez; 2 great-grandchildren, Amerie Rae Aguirre, and Diego Amadeo Ruiz as they remained together the rest of her days totaling 53 years of marriage.
Hobbies, Organizations and Later Years
Isabel loved spending her time in the kitchen cooking for anyone and everyone. She loved being a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother, godmother, sister and aunt to her family. She was very strong in her faith and a proud parishioner of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church since 1972. In December 1990, she graduated from The University of Texas at El Paso with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree all while being a full-time mother and full-time student. She was a devoted educator at St. Joseph’s Catholic School, Levi’s Straus, H.E. Charles Middle School, El Paso Community College, and the El Paso Job Corps. She became a life and heath insurance agent specializing in Medicare and Medicaid because she wanted to help people. Her love, charity, and empathy for others is what made her such a special human-being. Isabel will be missed, dearly.
