Ismael "Maelo" Holguin

Ismael “Maelo” Holguin, age 89, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at his home in El Paso, Texas. He was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed. Ismael is preceded in death by his loving mother; Maria Holguin; his dearest wife; Maria De La Luz Holguin; his loving daughter; Gabriela Limon; his brothers; Amador Holguin, Andres Zubia, Roberto Zubia and Ramon Holguin; and his sisters; Juanita Jimenez, Natalia Flores, Enriqueta Martinez and Anita Holguin. He is survived by his dearest daughter; Elizabeth Holguin; his three grandchildren; Esmeralda Castillo, Veronica Castillo, and Emilio Castillo and 6 great grandsons; Ethan, Henry, Dean, Santiago, John “Juan” and Bruno. He is also survived by many extended friends and family to cherish and honor his memory.

Daddy, Thank you very much for your love and support throughout the years. I am honored to have been by your side through thick and thin. Thank you for entrusting me with your care. You battled your conditions with strength and grace, fighting until the very end. Rest in Heavenly Paradise, please give Mom, Emilio and Christopher my love. Until we meet again, I will always love you. -Your baby girl Noty.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home- West with a Holy Rosary to follow at 6:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, August 25 at 11:30 am at Santa Teresita Mission, 3401 Zapal Ave., El Paso, Texas 79922. A Graveside Service will follow at 1:30 pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Those who cannot attend in person may join the funeral and memorial services virtually on Face book Live at https://www.facebook.com/sunsetfuneralhome (no account is needed).
