It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Senior Airman (SrA) Jakobi Andreus Amaker on October 14, 2025.
Born on September 16, 2002, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Jakobi grew up in a proud military family and developed a love for travel and new experiences at an early age. His educational journey took him across several states and countries — attending elementary school in Louisiana, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Kentucky; middle school in both Kentucky and Germany; and graduating from Fort Campbell High School in Kentucky, Class of 2020.
During his time in school, Jakobi was an active and dedicated student, participating in JROTC, varsity golf, and archery. He briefly attended Louisiana State University before choosing to continue his family’s legacy of service by enlisting in the United States Air Force. Jakobi’s professionalism, talent, and strong work ethic earned him great respect among his peers and superiors alike.
Jakobi is survived by his parents, Jonathan and Becky; his three brothers, Jaeoni, Juibei, and Jayse; and his sister, Karmela. He is also survived by his godparents, great-grandparents, grandparents, many aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly.
A service in honor of Jakobi’s life will be held at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. on November 10, 2025.
Flowers may be purchased below in coordination with Sunset Funeral Home NE. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jakobi’s name to Mission 22 at mission22.org/make-a-donation/#donationform in his honor.
