James Ennis Galaway

April 7, 1931 — October 28, 2023

Greenfield, IL

Jim Galaway of El Paso Texas passed away of natural causes on October 28th while holding the hand of one of his daughters. He was surrounded by many family members. There could be no sweeter departure.

Jim was born in 1931 in Greenfield, IL, to parents Elmo and Lois. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He moved his young family to Las Cruces in the early 1960s. Shortly afterward he moved to Northeast El Paso and has been a resident here ever since. He worked as an electronics technician at White Sands Missile Range until he retired in the 1990s. After his retirement, he began developing properties in Chaparral, NM. Over the years Mr. Galaway has given many families the opportunity to own a home; many of whom would never have otherwise had the opportunity. Jim was a hard worker for all of his life, and taught many of us to not just work hard, but to work smart, and to give it all we had.

Jim is survived by his wife Sandy, his sister Mary, and his 4 children; Mike, Diana, Nancy, and Bob. Also step children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren. More than 70 in all, and still counting!

Jim was always a champion of Christian Television in El Paso. He has been a major contributor to KSCE TV Channel 38 Christian Television since their beginning, because he believed in spreading the good news of Jesus Christ to others. He also gave to numerous other charities.

Jim will be remembered by many for his strong work ethic, his honesty, and his sacrificial generosity. He has gone home to the Lord and for this we are eternally grateful. He will always be in our hearts.
