James E. (Jim) Richardson
8/17/37-8/10/2015
James E. (Jim) Richardson went to be with his Lord on August 10, 2015. At the time of his passing he was at peace and surrounded in his home by those who love him the most. He was a kind and gentle man who was loved by many. He was a avid fan of his Dallas Cowboys, and the best husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, and friend that anyone could ever ask for.
He was born on August 17, 1937 to W.H. and Gladys Richardson in Harlingen, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&I University in 1960, and was subsequently commissioned into the United States Army as a Second Lieutenant. He was stationed at Ft. Bliss, Texas, where he obtained the rank of First Lieutenant. He remained active duty until his honorable discharge in 1963. He then continued to serve an additional six years in the U.S. Army Reserves where he was promoted to the rank of Captain. In 1963, he began his career in education with the El Paso Independent School District. After earning his Master’s Degree from the University of Texas at El Paso, he was promoted to assistant principal. He became a school principal 1974, and remained a principal until his retirement in 1997. He then returned to EPISD for the period of two years as a substitute assistant principal.
He was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Nancy, daughter Ann Marie Weis and husband Joe, granddaughter Kaylee, brother Bill and wife Regina, sister-in-law Mary Sizemore, sister-in-law Cynthia Richardson, nieces and nephews, and many friends.
