JERRY MOWAD passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the age of 71. Jerry was a native El Pasoan and graduate of Austin High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served his country in Viet Nam. He retired from the El Paso Natural Gas Company where he worked for 30 years. Jerry was a lifelong horseman and animal lover. During his life Jerry enjoyed showing, training, roping and riding horses. Another heartfelt part of Jerry’s life was the companionship of his dogs, all of which were rescues. His beloved dog Westy passed away in May of this year after 11 years by his side. His love for horses and dogs was surpassed only by his love of the outdoors. One of his greatest pleasures was driving his tractor at home with his grandson Tristan alongside him. He is survived by his loving companion and partner Kelly Dickson, daughter Danielle Mowad, grandson Tristan Mansion, brothers Mike, George , and Johnny Mowad. A memorial will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Rio Grande Valley Ranch located at the corner of Farm Road 259 and Strahan Rd.
