Jessie “Faynell” Poe August 19,1950-July 3, 2025 It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our sister, Faynell Poe. Faynell is survived by her brothers Robert and George. She was preceded in death by her Mother, Hazel B. Poe and the love of her life, Jim Gibson. Faynell, a native El Pasoan, graduated from Austin High School and earned her BBA from U.T.E.P. in 1971. Faynell was a lifetime member of NALS, “National Association For LEGAL SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS” where she held numerous national and local offices, including President and National Educational Cordinator. Faynell was a Certified Professional Paralegal, Professional Legal Secretary and the former Chair of the NALS Foundation, a 501(c) (3) nonprofit educational foundation. In 2018 she was awarded the” Professional of the Year award “by the Texas Association of Legal Professionals. Faynell was a volunteer with Christmas Street and also helped to decorate trees at the Rescue Mission of El Paso and other locations. Her passion was creating theme trees for offices or individuals. A dog lover all her life, Faynell often adopted a “special needs dog” from the local shelter. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 16, 2025,10:30 AM at The Crossing, 520 Thunderbird Drive, (across the street from Coronado Baptist Church). Cathy Poe and Senior Pastor Drew Cook will officiate.
