Jimmie Leonard Roberts, 86, was called home 1/11/2024. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years Harriet Jane, his parents Charles and Lois Roberts, brothers David Roberts and Charles Roberts. He’s survived by his 4 daughters and sons-in-law, Lori Green (Charles), Laura Cisneros (Victor), Heidi Batchelder (Gary Hatley), Lorna Pelton (Wayne), 12 grandchildren, James Cisneros (Jewel),Melissa Beatrice (Mark), Eric Green, Matthew Cisneros, Thomas Green (Nicole), CPT Stephanie Batchelder-Melendez (Marilyn), Tracy Van Horn (Robert), 3 great grandchildren, Christopher Beatrice, George Cisneros, and Cataleya Van Horn, brothers Don Roberts, Jerry Roberts (Jonelle), sister-in-law Laura Roberts, several nieces and nephews.
He proudly served in the United States Army from 1956 retiring in 1979. His joy in life was his family, playing water volleyball at 86, making MVP every Sunday, going to the Casinos to “donate” his money and working in his yard. He never met a stranger and his grandkid's friends came to refer to him as “Grandpa”. He loved to travel when he could and just enjoy life. He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Committal Service will take place at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Full Military Honors, 5200 Fred Wilson Avenue.
