Jimmy C. Franco, a Journeyman Lineman and life-long resident of El Paso, TX, passed away on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at the age of 72.
Jimmy was Born in Marfa, TX on January 17, 1953. He graduated from Bel Air High School and attended The University of Texas at El Paso. He later married and started a family.
Jimmy worked for the El Paso Electric Company for twenty-five years and retired from the trade in 2016. When not with his family, he would work long hours designing knives. He enjoyed crafting unique handles from materials like wood and antlers. Jimmy was also a lifelong hunter. He cherished the serenity of the outdoors and the camaraderie of his fellow sportsmen.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy and Aurora Franco. He leaves behind two daughters; Elsie Franco and Jana Franco, grandchildren; Ethan Gutierrez, Jaelynn Gutierrez, and Ella Rojo, siblings; Norma Franco, Ben Franco and Yvonne Franco, nephews; Roscoe Hidalgo, Benjamin Franco, Brandon Franco, and Izar Franco; and loving great nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Vigil/Rosary at 6:30 PM, Friday, January 9, 2026 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 10, 2026 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar.
