Joe M. Carabajal

Joe M. Carabajal, 81 Joe was born in Alamogordo, New Mexico in October 6, 1934. He graduated from Alamogordo High School in 1953. He went into the Navy in August 1953 until July 1957. After leaving the Navy, he married the love of his life in 1958, Bertha. He then worked Civil Service at White Sands Missile Range and retired in 1990. He worked for the El Paso Independent School District where he was known as "Robo Cop!" He worked from 1992- 2006. He enjoyed golfing and he loved coaching his children and grandchildren. His passion was supporting his grandchildren in every sport they played in. He was their #1 fan. Joe was preceded in death by his parents Adolfo and Juanita Carabajal, brother Alfredo Carabajal, sisters Nela Moya, Veva Gonzalez, and Helen Duran. Also, his grandson Joey Angel Ramos III. He leaves behind his beautiful wife of 58 years Bertha Carabajal, children Mike Carabajal (wife Maggie) ,Susan Johnson and John Carabajal (wife Maribel.) Grandchildren Erica Carabajal, Valarie Carabajal, Jason Garza, Jake Garza (wife Maribel), Aarron Ramos Sr. (wife Mariel), Armani Johnson, Sydney Johnson, Marcus Johnson (wife Tasha), Courtney Johnson, John Carabajal Jr. (wife Angel), Rene Carabajal, Christopher Carabajal and Pauline Carabajal. Great Grandchildren Aarron Ramos Jr., Nayeli Ramos, Estevan Carabajal, Serenity Carabajal, Jake Jr. Garza, George Garza, Madison Garza, Brooke Johnson, Maddie Johnson and Amelia Johnson. A rosary for Joe will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 7:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home - 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Mass is on Friday, October 7, 2016 at 12:30pm at Blessed Sacrament Church- 9025 Diana Drive. Burial will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with military honors- 5200 Fred Wilson Ave.
