CWO4 John Thomas Crank (US Army Retired), born on June 20, 1930 in Monongahela, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2007 at the age of 76 in El Paso, TX. He served 30 years of active duty service in the U.S. Army and 20 years of Civil Service. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ruben Rainey and his 3 children: John K. Crank, Wesley Crank, and Colleen Nwosuocha. He is survived by his siblings, Ruby Vancroft, William Rainey, Bobby Rainey, and Joe Hardy; his children: David Crank, Joyce Bamson, Bob Crank and his wife, Vicki, and Steven Crank and his wife, Nora; grandchildren: Julian Dozier, Missy Sprinkle, Asia Stiles, Christina Marenco, Jeremy Ramsey, Jeanna Stone, Anthony Crank, Wiltson Bamson, Emilike Nwosuocha, Erika Crank, and Andrew Crank; 11 great grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00pm-9:00pm, Wednesday, January 24, 2007 at Sunset Funeral Homes-Northeast located at 4631 Hondo Pass. Funeral Service will begin at 11:30 am, Thursday, January 25, 2007 at Unity Missionary Baptist Church located at 4601 Maxwell.
