John Javier Jerome

John Javier Jerome, 58, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026. John was born in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, on May 24, 1968. He lived the first half of his childhood in Juarez until moving to El Paso, TX. He graduated from Andress High School in 1986 and worked at Jiffy Lube after graduating. John loved country music and going to Dallas nightclub to hang out with friends and watch football. There he met a woman and would later marry her, the love of his life, Rachel, in 1998. John worked at B&M Machinery for over 30 years before leaving the company due to medical reasons. He loved watching the LA Chargers and football, watching hockey with his family, and playing with his fur babies, George and Luna. He was known to be introverted, but he had a huge heart when you got to know him. John is preceded in death by his father, Lyman Jordan Jerome Jr., his little sister, Millie Doyle, and his brother-in-law, Ernesto Garcia. He leaves behind his wife of twenty-seven years, Rachel Jerome; a daughter, Ashley Jerome; a son, Phillip Jerome; his mother, Ernestina Jerome; his sister, Janice Garcia; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and godchildren. 

Visitation will be held from 4:00 - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, July 7, 2026 with a rosary at 6:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home - East, 750 N Carolina Dr.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at St. Patrick Cathedral, 1118 N. Mesa St. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
