John Wesley Reynolds Jr., 83, passed away on August 26, 2013. Preceeding him in death is his daughter Debra Patran. He is survived by his wife Gail, son Jon Wesley Reynolds, daughter Kelly Ashcraft, and sister Ruth Hale. John worked for Continental Airlines from 1960 to 1983. He spent most of that time at El Paso International Airport. Prior to retiring from Continental, he worked at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport. Upon retiring, John came back to El Paso and worked for about a year at Border Steel. When America West Airlines started service to El Paso, he went to work for them until retiring, again, in October of 1991. John’s personal interests included the Hudson Essex Terraplane Club, of which he was a charter member. John, along with Rudy Griswold, Harry Groessel, Joe Hill, and Rudy Bennett, other Hudson enthusiasts, started the Ocotillio Chapter in January of 1972. This is the oldest known Hudson club in Texas. Having been a motorcycle enthusiast as well, John and his wife Gail joined the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) and spent the last 23 years as active and very involved members. He traveled extensively with the club, won several bike show awards, he and Gail were nominated Region F Chapter Couple of the Year in 2011, and he has held many officer positions within the chapter.
