John Melvin Thorpe

John Melvin Thorpe 10/16/1921~2/8/2015 John entered into eternal life on February 8, 2015. After serving our country during World War II in the Philippines, he worked for Civil Service at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, DC. retiring after 31 years. Golfing, driving around, riding around, or sitting around all over Europe or the United States occupied most of his time after retirement. Other than for his wife, Rosa, he has gone to await the resurrection of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless friends from Saint Patrick Cathedral and the Catholic Diocese of El Paso. Thanks to the staff at White Acres Good Samaritan Retirement Village and Nursing and Gentiva Hospice for providing excellent end-of-life care. Any donations should be made to the St. Patrick Cathedral Foundation Fund. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2015 from 5:00PM to 9:00PM, with a Vigil Service at 7:00PM at Sunset Funeral Home-West. Funeral Mass will be held at 8:30AM on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Saint Patrick Cathedral, 1118 N. Mesa, El Paso, Texas 79902. Interment will follow at Evergreen East Cemetery.
