Johnny F. Threatt

Johnny Threatt, 78, was the second of seven children. He attended A-M in Alabama, Huntsville and The University of Texas at El Paso where he received his BA degree. He later attended The Univesity of Texas at Permian Basin where he received his MA degree. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a Military Policeman for 20 years and one month, he retired from the military in 1974. He continued working in law enforcement for The Texas Youth Commission and retired in 1994 as superintendent of Schaeffer Halfway House. Deacon Threatt accepted Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he served in the Deacon Ministry, Trustee Ministry, Brotherhood, Male Chorus and Outreach Ministry. He is preceded in death by his parents and four siblings. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 50 years Annie, son, Michael Terrell Williams. daughter; Cathy Brown, granddaughter, Veronique Love, 6 great grandchildren, Larry III, Tareek, La'nique, TJ, Jesiah and Marcel, brother, Deacon Thomas Threatt, sister; Geraldine Swain and a host of nieces, nephews and relatives.. Visitation will be from 4-9 pm with a prayer service at 6 pm , Monday July 15, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Funeral Service will be at 11 am Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Interment will follow at 1 pm at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home East. Please visit on-line register book at www.sunsetfuneralhomes.net.
