Jose Refugio Lopez

José Refugio López (Cuco), 89, left us to be with the Lord on May 10, 2008. A long time resident of El Paso, was born in Chalchihuites, Zacatecas, México. He leaves a legacy of honesty, responsibility, hard work, respectfulness and unconditional love. A very quiet man with a lot of dignity and integrity who left a mark with anyone he came in contact with. He is preceded in death by his parents Sebastián and Carmen López, 3 sisters and 8 brothers. He is survived by his wife, Matilde, two sons, Francisco Gerardo and Jose Refugio Lopez, Jr., two daughters, Leticia Jacobo and Maricela Armendariz, 7 grandchildren, Daniel, Isabel, David, Ralph, Jose Refugio III, Victoria and Marlet. Son-in-laws, Rafael Jacobo and Ray Armendáriz, daughter–in-law, Laura López. Visitation will be held from 5:00-9:00 pm on Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Sunset Funeral Home–Northeast with a vigil at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 16, 2008 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
