Jose Celso Olivas, 91, of El Paso, passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family, August 29, 2015. He was born on July 28, 1924. He proudly served in the United States Army as a PFC from August 23, 1943 and was honorably discharged on February 1, 1946. Jose worked for Prices Creameries Dairy as a route salesman for 39 years and retired. He loved to go fishing, hunting, dance, and watch football (The Dallas Cowboys). Jose is preceded in death by his late parents, Jose Olivas Sr. and Maria Estela Duran. He leaves behind his Wife, of 66 years, Maria Estela Olivas (Gonzales); sons; Richard (Toni) Gonzalez, Joe (Blanca) Olivas Jr., Robert Olivas, and daughters; Jenny Duron, Frances (George) Galindo, Rosie Morales, and his 19 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-granddaughters, and 1 great-great- great granddaughter that he adored dearly. His family will be forever grateful for the wonderful life he provided them. You will forever be in our hearts. You will be greatly missed. Pall bearers; Jimmy Olivas, Ernie Morales, Stephen Olivas, Jason Olivas, Joe Olivas III, and George Galindo. Viewing 4-9pm on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home, 750 N. Carolina, with a 7 pm rosary. A funeral mass at 00 am on Friday, September 4, 2015 at San Antonio Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Ft Bliss National Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm-9:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 7:00pm on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home-East, 750 N. Carolina. Funeral Mass will be at 12:15pm on Friday, September 4, 2015 at San Antonio Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors.
