Jose T. Cardona Sr.

Jose Cardona, whom many knew as "Lal" or "El Guero" but I knew as "Dad" or "Apa" and his grandkids as "Grandpa" or "Abuelito," passed away on February 25, 2023, at the age of 73, in Cd. Juarez, Chihuahua.

Jose was born on September 03, 1949, to Julio and Irene Cardona in Chihuahua. After him being a long-time friend of one of Rosa Cardona's brothers, they started dating and married. They moved to El Paso, Texas, and built a family. Jose and Rosa Cardona would have three children, Jose Javier, Rosa Isela, and Cindy. Jose was an excellent, devoted, and hard-working father. He always taught us to stand tall, be proud, know ourselves in all situations, and supported us throughout our many accomplishments and difficulties.

Jose was predeceased by his parents, his wife, Rosa Cardona, and his oldest son Jose Javier Cardona. He is survived by his daughters, Rosa Isela and Cindy. Jose also leaves behind to cherish his memory his grandchildren, Roberto Jr, Angelica, Rene, Adalynn, Ricco, and Alyssa; three great grandchildren and five siblings.

Jose was like Mr. International, he touched so many lives, and those who knew him will always remember him for his charisma, and no one was immune to his jokes; he was the life of the party. His love for his family and friends was unconditional. He did not care about material wealth he was the simplest humble person I know.

Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Prayer Service at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East, 750 N. Carolina. A Chapel Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 9, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Homes - East.
