Josefina Del Toro Garcia, born on July 8, 1938, in San Pedro, Coahuila, passed away on January 28, 2026, in El Paso, Texas. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, whose life was marked by her warm spirit and creative talents.
Josefina had an array of interests that reflected her vibrant personality. She found joy in sewing, cooking, and preparing tamales, sharing her culinary skills with family and friends. She also enjoyed visiting the casino and playing loterria, activities that brought her happiness and allowed her to connect with her loved ones.
She is survived by her siblings, Jose Isabel del Toro Garcia and Cecilia del Toro Garcia. Her legacy continues through her children: Sara Alejandrez del Toro (Jose Aurelio Roal), Gloria Alejandrez - Young (John Edward Young Jr.), Patricia Monahan del Alejandrez (John), Jesus Alejandrez del Toro (Victoria Castaneda), Francisco Alejandrez del Toro (Danali Regalado), and Mirriam del Toro Morales (Andy Morales). Josefina's grandchildren, who brought her immense joy, include Alicia Young, Austin T. Young, Juanita Segovia, Viviana Alejandrez, Diana Alejandrez, Claudia Rodriguez, Jose Aurelio Isabel Rodriguez, Marco Aurelio Rodriguez Alejandrez, Jazmin Alejandrez, Oscar Jareal Alejandrez, Luis Alejandrez, Andrea Morales, Abel Morales, Marcos Daniel Regalado, Yoselin Regalado, Guillermo Ismael Rodriguez Alejandrez, John Herbert Monahan, Jessica Marie Monahan, Steven Monahan, and Selina Monahan.
Josefina was preceded in death by her son, Gumerindo Alejandrez del Toro, her daughter, Leticia Alejandrez del Toro, her father, Gumercindo del Toro Franco, her mother, Josefa Garcia Ariza, and her grandchild, Sofia Young. Their memories live on in the hearts of those who survive her.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Homes - Northeast in El Paso on February 9, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, followed by a Rosary from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on February 10, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church at 12:00 PM, with the interment following at Mt. Carmel Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
Josefina Del Toro Garcia's life will be celebrated and cherished by all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of love and resilience that will not be forgotten.
