Joseph Larry Black Jr., 51, went to be with his Lord on Monday, April 30, 2019. Larry was born in Shreveport Louisiana, on February 16, 1968. His family moved to Stonewall, Louisiana, when he was 5 years old and lived there until graduating from North Desoto High School in 1986. He served his country in the United States Air Force after high school. Then went on to do what he really loved, driving trucks. He drove cross country where he met his wife, Sylvia, in El Paso Texas. There, Larry made his home until Monday. Larry loved everything about the trucking business. He started his own company and wanted a fleet of trucks. He also loved his family, camping, his chickens, cooking, gardening, and loved Baseball. He loved Church, where he was the Children's Church Director, and was in the process of becoming a Deacon and most of all, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Larry was a loving, kind hearted, God fearing man. He had an infectious laugh and great sense of humor. Larry is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Walter Stephens and Dorothy Mason, paternal grandparents, Joseph and Flossie Black, his Son in Law, Francisco Flores, and Step brother James Watson. He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Black, daughters, Catherine Jo Black, Erika Marie Silva, husband Giovanni, Sylvia Crystal Correa and son Luis F Correa Jr., Grandchildren; Monique Correa, Stephany Correa, Luis F Correa III, Liliana Correa, Evelyn Correa Flores, Iris Flores Correa and Enzo Silva. Parents, Joseph and Norma Black and Michael and Janice Chambless. Sister Sheila Thompson and husband Billy Thompson, brothers Jerry Neely and wife Wendy, Jonathan Black, Step sister Sonia Van Camp, husband James, Step brothers, Shawn Chambless, Gavin Chambless, Troy Watson and wife Angie and a countless number of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends that love him and will miss him dearly. Visitation will be from 5:00pm to 9:00pm with a Prayer Service at 7:00pm on Tuesday, May 07, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast, 4631 Hondo Pass Drive. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00am on Wednesday, May 08, 2019 at Mountain View Baptist Church, 4959 Hondo Pass Drive. Committal Service to follow at 11:00am on Wednesday, May 08, 2019 at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
