Joseph Lynn Lilly, age 52 known lovingly as Joey, passed away on March 23rd at his residence surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 12,1973 in Fayetteville, North Carolina, Joey lived a life defined by dedication, determination, and deep love for his family and friends.
Joey began his career with BAE Systems in 2004 at Fort Hood, Texas during the reconstitution of the 4ID’s Bradleys. He started out as a mechanics helper, and taught himself quickly about the vehicle and in 2007 was offered a promotion to Field Support Represenative ( FSR) so we then uprooted our family and moved to El Paso. He provided technical support of the M2 Bradley family of vehicles while being embedded with active duty soldiers both in Garrison and their multiple deployments to the Middle East.
Joseph was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father and PopPop and will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his mother; Geraldine Ann Loszewski. He is survived by his father; Jack Edwin Lilly (Idalia); his loving wife; Christy Lynn Lilly; his dearest children; Tyler Fitzwater-Witt, Jordyn Alvarado, Austen Witt and Avery Lilly; his siblings; Rick Lilly (Ana), Tony Mancillas (Suzy), Jacque Ozuna (Valdemar), Blanch Mancillas-Hylton (Craig) and Zobeida Mancillas; and his two grandsons; Tristyn Phillips and Ezra Alvarado He is also survived by many extended friends and family to cherish and honor his memory.
A Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, March 31, 2026 with a Celebration of Life at 6:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home- Northeast.
