Josephine Harmon

On October 31, 2013 Josephine H. Harmon went to be with our Lord. She was born December 7, 1923 in Owensboro, Kentucky. Jo Harmon worked as a riveter in 1944 supporting the WWII effort and moved to El Paso in 1950 with her sister. She married the love of her life, Richard J. Harmon, in 1952 and they enjoyed a wonderful marriage for over 60 years. Jo Harmon was a loving, caring mother and homemaker, who maintained a great sense of humor and positive outlook on life. She was a sensitive, supportive friend and companion. She will be sorely missed by family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched. Josephine is survived by husband Richard, daughter Mary Anna Giba & husband Thomas Giba, daughter Carolyn Harmon-Weaver & husband Brian Weaver, son Richard Harmon & wife Lyn Harmon, and son Steve Harmon and wife Liz Harmon. She leaves seven grandchildren: Kristi and Mike Harmon, Caitlin and Taylor Harmon, Alyson Weaver, and Jennifer and Michael Giba. She has 2 great grandchildren. Josephine is survived by sister Ernestine Engle of Cincinnati. The family wishes to express our extreme gratitude to so many people who supported and cared for Mrs. Harmon. Visitation will be from 1:00pm to 5:00pm with a Funeral Service at 3:00pm on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Northeast.
