She was a lifelong resident of El Paso and graduate of Bowie High School. After returning from a US Army tour in Germany, she and husband John, became active members of the American Legion serving in a number of different capacities in the local post.
“Josie” as everybody knew her, was as independent as she was outspoken. There was never any doubt as to where she stood or what she thought. Up until her death, she lived in the home that she and John built in 1954. It was a place where children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren returned to because it was “home”.
