With great sadness, his family announces the passing of Juan Manuel Esparza, 65, on August 8th, 2015 near his home in Washington, Georgia.
A native of El Paso, he has returned home for the final time. Juan served in the Army during the Vietnam War, where he was injured. With the devoted help of his mother, he recovered. After moving to California, he began working for the US Postal Service, eventually retiring in 2004 holding the position of Postmaster of Yorba Linda, CA.
He is preceded in death by his beloved mother Lorenza; brother Ricardo; and nephew Stephen Borjon. He leaves behind his wife Sharon and daughter Gaby of Georgia; sons Ezar, Eris, Eron and Esai of California; father Margarito and sister Margarita Simental of El Paso; grandsons Parker and Cooper; sister-in-law Lupe; nieces Indra Worch, Erin Connon, and Veronica Borjon; nephew Jose Borjon; and many loving cousins who were like siblings.
Juan was a master gardener, specializing in maples. He loved to travel. Bargain hunting was a passion, as was spending time with his four dogs. Family was everything to Juan, and he is now home here in El Paso, as well as in his eternal home with our Lord.
Visitation will be held at 4:00pm to 6:00pm with a Vigil/Rosary at 7:00pm on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 9:00am on Monday, August 17, 2015 at St. Paul Catholic Church. Committal Service to follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
