Juan Antonio Galindo passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 15, 2013. Preceded in death by his parents German and Dominga Galindo; sister, Bertha Galindo. Survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Elvira Galvan Galindo; his sons: Juan Antonio II (Margie) and David Anthony; his brothers: Herman (Susie), Nohe (Laura), Caesar, Teofilo (Eloisa), and George (Debbie); and granddaughter, Brenda Lorraine. He attended El Paso High School and proudly served his country with the UNITED STATES MARINE CORPS, a 100% disabled Vietnam War veteran, served from 1969 to 1972. Known affectionately by many of his friends and family as Johnny, Tony and COACH GALINDO was loved and will be greatly missed. Juan proudly served as the Board President of the EPCC Board of Trustees. Passionately volunteered as coach for Boy’s Baseball Little League and Southeast T-Birds Football. Juan also had Galindo’s Rainbows old-timer baseball team with his son, David, and always looked forward to playing ball on Sundays. His favorite team was the New York Yankees. Our hearts will be empty until we meet again with Coach on the field. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 9:00 p.m., with a Rosary to begin at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home-East on 750 N. Carolina Dr. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:45 p.m., Monday, October 21, 2013 at Our Lady of the Light Catholic Church, 4700 Delta. Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors. (SEMPER FI) Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
