Judith C. Welch

Judith C. Welch, 83, of Chaparral, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026, in El Paso, Texas.

Born in 1943 in Wheeling, West Virginia, Judith was a beloved daughter and sister. After leaving Wheeling, she eventually made her home in New Mexico, where she devoted her life to her work as a professional and celebrated artist. She was especially known for her distinctive Southwest art, specializing in pointillism, oil painting, and watercolor.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and sister, remembered for her kindness, brilliant wit, resilience, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Judith found joy in horseback riding, traveling throughout the Southwest, and spending time with friends. Her generosity and compassion touched the lives of many.

She is lovingly remembered by her son, Tim Welch; her daughter-in-law, Carrie; and her two grandchildren, Ryan and Avery. She was preceded in death by her sister, Carol.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 23, 2026, at 9:30 a.m. at Chaparral First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Desert View Cemetery in Chaparral, New Mexico.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any animal rescue organization in the region.

Judith’s memory will be cherished always, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
