Judy Ruth Pugh

June 17, 1940 — November 7, 2021

Judy R. Pugh, 81, departed this life on 07 November 2021 in El Paso, TX. She was born June 1940, in Cleveland, TN, the daughter of the late Rosa and Robert Prigmore. She is preceded in death by her brother; Wiley Prigmore; her granddaughter, Cherina Calhoun and great-grandson Khameron Poindexter. Survivors include her husband, Adolph Pugh Sr.; her children; Carolyn Calhoun (Tamara Pugh and Tameka Calhoun), Adolph Pugh, Jr. (Chace, Brandon, and David Pugh), Alyson Poindexter (Joycelyn and Janay Poindexter), and Lesley Pugh (Demetrius Knighton and Symone Carter). Judy loved to brag about all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jaeden Pugh–Bessellieu, Jon Bessellieu Jr., Evan Alfrey, Nyasia Davis, Amari Poindexter, Kamari Knighton, Camryn Pugh, and Kamille Knighton. Judy also leaves behind her dear brother, Otis Prigmore, nieces, and nephews and a host of loved ones. Judy was a graduate of College Hill High School Class of 1958. Judy was employed for a short time until her marriage to her high school sweetheart, Adolph Pugh Sr. Upon Adolph’s retirement, he and Judy decided to settle their family in El Paso, TX. Judy and Adolph would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on November 27, 2021. Judy was a Homemaker and dedicated her life to caring for her family and friends. Judy never met a stranger and treated everyone like family while raising her own. She became a babysitter and was affectionately known as, “Momma Judy”. She was easy to talk to and without judgment would listen and love on you at the same time. Judy poured her heart and soul into not only raising her own children, but she had so much pride in being able to help raise her grandchildren as well. You would walk away not only knowing that she loved you, but you could “feel” the love! Each of us are better with a little bit of Momma Judy in our hearts. She would tell us, “I go down my list and pray for all of you, because I know for a fact that PRAYER WORKS”. God Bless you all for your acts of kindness and expressions of sympathy in our great loss, at this time. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for the tokens of love you all have shown our family, they mean so much and will stay in our hearts forever.
