Julie Ann Mathis

Our cherished Julie Ann Mathis, 47, lost her battle with cancer July 3, 2013. She was beautiful, determined and brave throughout her illness, and kept her sense of humor to the end. Julie was born in Las Cruces, NM, October 29, 1965. She spent her early childhood in Jal, NM before moving to Midland, TX where she graduated from Robert E Lee High School. She attended Belmont College in Nashville, TN. After receiving a BS degree from Mesa State University in Grand Junction, CO, she moved to Seattle, WA where she was an editor for the WAC magazine. In 1998, Julie moved to El Paso where she became Marketing Director for White Horse Communications, later becoming Vice President. Julie is survived by her beloved Mike Franco; her parents, Charles and Carol Mathis of Santa Teresa, NM; her sister, Tamara Villarma (Darrell); and nephews, Steffen and Ryan Villarma of Greenville, TX; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She will be deeply missed and will remain in our hearts forever. Services will be held July 15 at 2:30 at Santa Teresa Presbyterian Church, 5400 Mc Nutt Road in Santa Teresa, NM. Visitation from 12:30 to 2:00.
