Julieta L. Martinez

Julieta L. Martinez, beloved mother, Grandma and Great Grandma, was called home to glory on Friday, May 31, 2013. She never met a stranger and always opened her home, heart and kitchen to all. She loved her work at the El Paso State Center. She was preceded by her parents, Teodoro and Ana Maria Leon, two brothers Teodoro and Joseph Leon, and a sister, Emma Lucero. She leaves behind a loving family: daughters, Ann Pabon, Elizabeth Sunderland, Diane Martinez and son, Jesse Martinez (Barbara); brother, George Leon (Penny), sisters, Yolanda Gonzalez (Richard), Connie Lazenby (Frank), and Barbara Robbins, aunt Emma Hernandez and ex-husband, Jesus Martinez. She raised and provided a home for her grandsons Eli (Rachael) and Isaac (Elizabeth) Pabon. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all her grandchildren; Ruben(Bernadette)Esquivel, John (Irma)Sunderland, Alan, Jennifer, and Calvin Zielsdorf, Amanda, JG, and David Martinez, Rebecca and JB; twelve great-grandchildren; her sister in laws, Olga Terrazas, Martha Rodriguez, Irma Briones, numerous nephews and grand nephews and many faithful friends and brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you to the staff of Quantum, DSI East, Del Sol, Norma Quinones, Victoria Rodriguez, Socorro Reyes, Dr. Munoz, and Dr. Enrique Porras. A Gathering of Remembrance will be from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M., Tuesday, June 4, 2013 with a Memorial Service at 7:00 P.M. at Sunset Funeral Home-Americas, located at 9521 North Loop Dr. El Paso, Texas 79907.
