Kathrine Erika La Bounty

Kathrine Erika La Bounty, age 90, entered into the loving hands of her Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 18, 2025. Katie was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was a devoted member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and dedicated many years of her life as a teacher before retiring. Her faith, kindness, and commitment to her family and community were the foundation of her life.

Katie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvin B. La Bounty.

She is survived by her loving children: Daniel Grady (Mary Kay), Robert Grady (Loraine), Angie Daughtrey (Corey), Petra Nelson (Zach), Mitzie Richards (Charlie), and Tessa Shaffer (Jeremy) along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m., at Sunset Funeral Home–West.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1551 Belvidere Street. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.

Services are entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home–West, 480 N. Resler Drive.
