In Loving Memory of Kevin Jay Jessup
July 14, 1956 – May 14, 2025
Kevin Jessup, a man of deep faith, devoted family values, and an unshakable work ethic, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2025 at the age of 68.
Kevin was from Beaver, Utah, the son of a hardworking family on a dairy farm. One of ten children, he grew up alongside nine siblings, where life was full of early mornings, strong backs, and shared responsibilities. From a young age, Kevin learned the value of discipline and dedication—rising before dawn to help milk cows, working side by side with his family, and embracing the kind of honest labor that would define the rest of his life.
Kevin was a man whose life was rooted in love—for God, for his family, and for his community. A faithful follower of Christ, he was a long-standing member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he worshiped, served, and lived out his beliefs in strength and humility. His relationship with the Lord was the foundation of his life and the guidepost for how he treated others—with compassion, honesty, and grace.
Family was everything to Kevin. He was a loving husband, a proud father, and a devoted grandfather. He adored his wife, Marcy, (Fox) with all his heart. Their bond was strong and steady—a partnership built on mutual respect, deep friendship, and unconditional love. Kevin often said she was his greatest blessing, and he cherished every moment they shared, from the long days building a life together to the quiet evenings spent side by side arguing whether to watch war movies, history documentaries, or romantic comedies. He always won!
His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he found great happiness in watching them grow, teaching them about faith, hard work, and the simple joys of life.
Kevin was a gifted builder with a vision for excellence. Through his company, Jessup Masterpiece Homes, he built not only homes, but works of art—each one crafted with care, creativity, and a deep respect for the families who would live in them. His attention to detail and commitment to quality extended to the commercial buildings he constructed as well, always with the belief that good work should be built to last. To Kevin, building wasn’t just a job—it was a calling, and he poured himself into it with pride and purpose.
In addition to his work in construction, Kevin was a lifelong rancher with a deep love for the land and the animals he cared for—especially his cows. He found peace in the rhythm of ranch life, and joy in the physical work it required. Whether feeding cattle in the early morning cold or fixing fences with his bare hands, he was happiest when working outside, using the strength and skill God gave him. He loved working with his hands, getting dirty, and doing things the right way—because that’s the way he was raised, and the way he raised others.
Kevin Jessup was the kind of man who showed up—dependable, strong, and steady. He was truly a gentle giant. He leaves behind a legacy not just in the homes he built or the land he worked, but in the lives, he shaped and the love he gave so freely.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Marcy Jessup; children, Sheldon (Marlene); Clifford (Kendal); Clayton (Andrea); Deborah (Cecilio); Derek (Rachel) and Daryl (deceased); Seventeen grandchildren, Daniel, Sebastian, Stone, Luke, Emerson, Ella, Emma, Adrianna, James, Knox, Sarah, Ryder, Greyson, Cruz, Adeline, Jaxon, Addyson (who Kevin always called “Seventeena”); and siblings, Nita, Velate, Theron, Philip, Tony, Eric, Rishelle, Jill, and Michah.
A service to honor Kevin’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 400 Rosemont, El Paso, TX 79922.
Viewing will be held from 10:00am -12:00pm. Funeral services will begin at 12:00pm. Following the services the Interment will be at Memory Gardens of the Valley 4900 McNutt Rd, Santa Teresa, NM 88008.
