Larry L. Hollinsworth

Larry Leon Hollinsworth, 62, of El Paso, Texas passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on January 27. 2026. He was a very loving father, grandfather, partner, brother, son, and friend. More than anything, he is gone too soon and will be greatly missed by all who love him.


Larry was born June 29, 1963 in Oak Harbor, Washington to Jack and Shirlee Hollinsworth. As a Navy child, lived in California, Virginia, Colorado, the Philippines, and finally Ewa Beach, Hawaii where he graduated from James Campbell High School in 1981. He was a natural athlete, excelling in baseball, football, and surfing.


He obtained his Associate’s Degree at Northeastern Junior College in Sterling, Colorado. He went on to work for Oklahoma Fixtures/CDI from 1983-2000. During one contract at an El Paso, Texas Dillard’s, he met the love of his life Evelyn Lopez. He was later employed for EPISD as a senior cabinetmaker from 2000-2023.


Larry and Evelyn were married in 1988 and went on to have 2 daughters, Heather and Jessica, who were everything to him. He was an avid sports dad, always playing with them in the back yard. He never missed a soccer or softball game and was their biggest fan. His heart grew when his beloved grandchildren Aubrey and Abel came along, promoting him to T-ball/Soccer/Swim grandpa.


Evelyn and Larry were reunited in 2018, becoming partners in crime building up their home, playing darts, going to softball games, and enjoying life together.


Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Shirlee Hollinsworth and a brother, Steven. His survived by his loving partner, Evelyn; Daughters Heather Almodovar (Michael) and Jessica Hollinsworth (Drew); Grandchildren Aubrey, Abel, and Lee; Brother Jack; Sisters Vicki and Julie. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.


A public visitation will take place on January 31, 2026 from 10 am-2 pm at Sunset Funeral Homes - Northeast with a celebration of life Ceremony from 12:00 - 2:00 pm
