Leo Travis Effenberger entered eternal life on April 24, 2025. Born in Shiner, Texas to parents Vlasta Darilek and Frank Joseph Effenberger on April 3, 1934, Leo Travis had just celebrated his 91st birthday surrounded by his family in El Paso, Texas, his home for 42 years. Leo Travis attended Texas A&M University, earning a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Marrying the love of his life, Henrietta Anne Vesely, at Saints Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner, Texas in 1958, Leo and Anne cherished 66 years together and raised four children. For over 50 years, Leo provided for his family as a Professional Engineer and was highly regarded as a dedicated employee, business owner, and consultant. Leo Travis was preceded in death by his son Timothy Leo Effenberger. He is survived by his wife Henrietta Anne Effenberger; daughter Christine Anne Fogel; son Paul Patrick Effenberger; and daughter Laura Elizabeth Linggi. Leo Travis is also survived by his sister Carmen Catherine Haynes, of Boerne, Texas. Leo Travis is blessed with twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be held at Sunset Funeral Home located at 4631 Hondo Pass on Thursday May 8, 2025 at 6 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church located at 9025 Diana Drive on Friday May 9, 2025 at 12 p.m. Interment will be at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.
